Experience Buffalo

Leadership Buffalo's Experience Buffalo (formerly known as First Impressions) is a unique program designed to introduce relocated senior executives and their spouses or partners to the Buffalo Niagara Region. The focus of this program is on:

  • Acquainting senior executives new to Buffalo with the people, places and issues that make up our community
  • Connecting new executives to Buffalo and the people of WNY in order for them to become committed to the region

 

THE EXPERIENCE BUFFALO EXPERIENCE

Experience Buffalo is a unique opportunity to get to know the area and its resources. Senior executives will learn about important issues relevant to Western New York from those most involved.

 

Educational and informational, Experience Buffalo emphasizes networking. The program offers a chance to meet some of the community's most influential leaders in all fields, from business to government to the arts. Senior executives will get an overview of the area from historic, economic, civic, political, cultural and entertainment perspectives. They will also benefit from exposure to organizations that play a critical role in the Buffalo Niagara Region.

 

Experience Buffalo is designed for senior executives and their spouses or partners who have lived in the area less than 24 months. Participants should be interested in learning more about the current issues and key leaders in WNY and how to increase their involvement in community affairs.

 

When someone in an executive position moves into a new area there is a sense of urgency and importance to learning about the community. Experience Buffalo provides an unparalleled opportunity to learn about the Buffalo Niagara Region with a small group in a short period of time.

 

The format is designed to keep the program informal, insightful and entertaining. It sets the groundwork essential for productive and enjoyable involvement in the community.

 

SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS

Experience Buffalo offers five evening programs with sessions beginning at 5:30 and ending by 9:30 pm. Each evening will include dinner at a distinctive location catered by one of the region's premier restaurants. Local business and community leaders serve as "CEO hosts" at these monthly events. Each evening's agenda is guided by a topic and includes informal conversations, tours, and presentations that are associated with that theme.

 

The number of participants is limited to enable the issues to be presented in conversations rather than formal speeches. Both sides of issues are introduced to help the new executives and their families understand the challenges as well as the opportunities facing our region.
