LB Connect
What is LB Connect?
Leadership Buffalo decided to build upon its core competency of
enhancing the leadership skills of community members by creating a
system to match these individuals with nonprofit agencies and boards.
LB Connect is a database system designed to link LB program graduates
interested in community board service with an organization looking for
a board member that meets their criteria for a specific skill set.
How does LB Connect work?
LB members are asked to complete a profile indicating where and in what
capacity they currently volunteer, their skill sets, sectors where they
would like to be volunteer, time they have available and other
information that might prove useful in making a match. This information
will be updated annually at the time they renew their membership dues.
LB Connect will find the perfect match between organizations and LB
Graduates- with little work required on your end!
What is the cost?
In order for a not-for-profit agency to receive access to this cadre
of trained volunteers, they will be asked to pay an annual
administrative fee of $100.
This small fee will help to defray the manpower costs associated with
the process of matching volunteers to agencies. It is free for
dues-paying LB graduates who are seeking a potential match for a board
position.
What is the process?
All incoming class members will be asked to complete the document
when they are accepted into the program. Accordingly, organizations
will be able to fill out a request form when they are looking to fill a
board vacancy, and LB members will thus be paired with an appropriate
position within an organization. Agencies will be asked to complete a
yearly profile outlining their mission, program focus areas, current
board structure and responsibilities of board members when they pay
their annual administrative fee. Each year or when needed, they will
have the opportunity to identify the skills they are seeking in board
members. LB staff will provide the names and contact information of
graduates who meet their needs. The agency will be responsible for
contacting the person, interviewing and selecting from among those
recommended. LB will follow-up with agencies to determine if they were
able to select a candidate.
