How did Leadership Buffalo shape your personal life?
As a young professional with the "world at my fingertips" it can be easy to overlook the history, culture, development and sense of community in Buffalo. Through themed outings, Youth Leadership of Buffalo exposed me to such an array of charm and potential all within the Queen City and at a young age. This program developed my sense of pride and commitment to our city which has kept me calling Buffalo home.

How did Leadership Buffalo prepare you in your professional life?
My time spent with YLEC was invaluable. The strong focus on community involvement led me to great opportunities volunteering, networking and later into my career. In hospitality, you are constantly promoting the local treasures of your community; Leadership Buffalo exposed me to beautiful "gems" that I never knew existed. To this day I recommend families see what is happening at Theatre of Youth on Allen Street or experience true history with tours of Michigan Street Baptists Church, both of which were shown to me through the Youth Leadership Buffalo program.

How did Leadership Buffalo shape your personal life?
As a high school student in Buffalo I was only exposed to the students at my inner city school and other schools similar to mine. Being exposed to students of different schools and communites helped me to come out of my comfort zone and intergrate myself in many diverse settings. I was also able to learn more about the various places in and around Buffalo and appreciate the city I grew up in. Stepping out of my comfort zone allowed me to take on leadership roles in college and in my professional career.

How did Leadership Buffalo prepare you in your professional life?
As a YLEC member I was prepared to work with many people from diverse backgrounds. I learned more about the movers and shakers of the Buffalo community and became more aware of what Buffalo has to offer to professionals. YLEC taught me the value of networking and meeting new people. As I think back to my highschool days I saw the value of networking and as a member I was exposed to many people where I learned how to network professionally. This skill is very important to me and I was able to maintain and create new friendships.
