At the 2010 opening retreat the class was asked to take full advantage of the day sessions and to use those experiences to create personal and professional "tipping points." Following Neighborhood Discovery Day, many felt that there were leaders in the community with diverse backgrounds and perspectives who could benefit from the LB Class Experience and help make Buffalo better, however, cannot afford the LB tuition costs.
The Leadership Opportunity Scholarship Fund (LOSF) was created by the class of 2010 to provide an area leader with the opportunity to participate in the Leadership Buffalo Class Experience by awarding financial assistance over and above the current LB Scholarship but not to exceed 80% of tuition and first-year dues. Since its inception, the LOSF has provided tuition assistance to three LB members.
