2013 Class Project

The Class of 2013 is working with the Food Bank of WNY to benefit the BackPack Program at PS 74 Hamlin Park School. Our class will raise funds for Hamlin through corporate sponsorships and fundraisers.

The BackPack Program assists eligible students by providing easily prepared, nutritious food in take-home bags on Fridays throughout the school year. In many cases, the food provided is the only food these children and their families see over the weekend. Currently 14 Buffalo public schools participate in the Backpack Program and do so through local corporate sponsorship. Each school has at least 50 student participants; $7,200 feeds those students for one school year (8,400 meals). Our goal is to raise the necessary funds for Hamlin Park's participation in the BackPack program for the 2014/2015 academic year.
