Leadership Buffalo is seeking committed alumni to join our Day Session Innovation Committee — a group of engaged leaders who bring fresh ideas, diverse experiences, and professional insight to elevate our day session programming across all cohorts.

The Day Session Innovation Committee is responsible for assisting the LB staff in the future of Leadership Buffalo’s day sessions by bringing diverse perspectives, professional expertise, and innovative ideas to enhance programming across all cohorts.
Committee Scope
- Review and assess current programs for effectiveness and alignment with organizational goals.
- Provide recommendations for program improvement, innovation, and potential expansion.
- Recommend ways to incorporate emerging community issues, culture and inclusivity, and leadership development trends.
- Support staff in identifying trends, gaps, and community needs that inform programming.
- Ensure that program activities reflect the organization’s values and strategic priorities.
- When appropriate, support fundraising efforts that directly benefit programmatic work. Any such support will be clearly defined and may include non-monetary engagement such as volunteering or advocacy, in order to avoid overlap with the Development Committee.
Structure
- The committee is chaired by a LB Staff Member.
- Members serve for a renewable one-year term.
- The committee meets bi-monthly (every other month) or as needed.
- Additional working groups may be formed to address specific programmatic areas or initiatives.
Roles & Expectations
- Attend and actively participate in scheduled meetings.
- Participate in at least one day session per cohort per year.
- Review program-related materials in advance and come prepared to contribute.
- Offer professional expertise, lived experience, or sector-specific insight to guide decision-making.
- Serve as ambassadors for the organization’s programs within their networks.
- When appropriate, support select fundraising initiatives related to programming, as defined by committee scope.
Eligibility
- Paid LB Member
- Graduate of Class Experience, Rising Leaders, or Leadership Buffalo Essentials.
- At least 1 year removed from program completion
- Demonstrate a commitment to the organization’s mission and values.
- Have experience or interest in program development, leadership development, evaluation, community impact, or related areas.
- Be willing to engage collaboratively with fellow committee members and staff.
- Represent diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and/or communities served by the organization.
