Leadership Development Series

Join Leadership Buffalo, and Jessica Schimert (RL '12) of Performance Management Partners, as we explore The Art and Practice of Servant Leadership

Servant leadership is a philosophy that places leadership focus on the growth and success of others (i.e. your employees), rather than on personal ego. A servant leadership style builds strong, trusting professional relationships; cohesive, productive teams; and a supportive, collaborative culture where people flourish and grow. This all can occur while achieving your organization's mission and strategic goals. This workshop will help you discover the specifics of how servant leadership works and how it can benefit both leaders and employees.

This interactive workshop will accomplish the following objectives:

  • Define servant leadership
  • Know the characteristics and benefits of servant leadership
  • Understand the connection between servant leadership and employee engagement
  • Learn strategies to increase morale, productivity and retention
  • Discuss motivation and understand how to inspire others to excellence
  • Create a sense of community within your organization and work team
  • Practice self-reflection and explore how you can implement a servant leadership style within your team and organization
